Competing in the Nedbank Readathon requires the same qualities that three times world champion, Muhammad Ali, demonstrated whenever he stepped into the boxing ring- determination and endurance. This is particularly true in terms of the high standard of entries that are received each year from the many competing learners and schools.  From this compilation of entries the winners are selected and those selected to do the choosing face an unenviable task as they decide which schools and learners have gone that extra mile and thus deserve to be given the final accolades.  To all the winners we extend our sincere congratulations and to all of the learners and schools who did not  receive an award, we thank you for your participation and encourage you to use your talents and energies by competing in the Nedbank Readathon 2009. After all:
